University of Iowa Museum of Art Invites Participants to Rate the Accessibility of Art Descriptions

We are writing to invite you to participate in a research study being conducted by investigators from The University of Iowa.   The purpose of the study is to determine the accessibility of written verbal descriptions about artwork for individuals who are blind or have low vision. You must be a current or prior gallery attendant, speak English fluently, be 18 or older, not be colorblind, and not have a visual or sensory processing disorders that will inhibit your ability to view art or read text. If you agree to participate, your involvement would last for a total of up to 4 hours over 2 sessions.    You will be asked to fill out two surveys on two different dates. You are free to skip any questions that you prefer not to answer. You will be paid $20 for each session, for a total of $40 (or $20 if you do not attend Session 2). We will collect your name and identifiable information for the purposes of payment in person separately from your survey responses. It will not be possible to link you to your responses on the survey.    If you are interested, please fill out the interest survey at  https://uiowa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3kn6d6a2n51lfAV.    If you have questions, please contact Kyle Rector at kyle-rector@uiowa.edu or 503-449-1736.
