Symposium at Princeton University | States of Health: Visualizing Illness and Healing – November 15, 2019

Organized in conjunction with the exhibition, States of Health: Visualizing Illness and Healing, Princeton University Art Museum will host a symposium on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 9 am – 5 pm.

Panelists will discuss the topics raised in the exhibition, ranging from disease, mental illness, and care. Speakers include:

  • João Biehl, Susan Dod Brown Professor of Anthropology and Co-Director, Program in Global Health and Health Policy
  • Jhumpa Lahiri, Professor and Director, Program in Creative Writing
  • Elena Fratto, assistant professor in Slavic Languages and Literatures
  • Bonnie Bassler, Squibb Professor and Chair, Molecular Biology
  • Anna Arabindan-Kesson, assistant professor in Art History and African American Studies
  • Judith Hamera, professor of Dance
  • Eric Avery, artist and psychiatrist
