|Job Title||Gallery Assistant (Part-time)|
|Position Summary||Responsible for helping make the Bernice Coulter Templeton Gallery a pleasant environment for all patrons and employees by providing courteous assistance. All applicants must communicate effectively and enjoy interacting with the gallery’s visitors.
Must be available to work Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
|Essential Duties and Responsibilities||1. Provides office assistance to the gallery by assisting faculty in routine clerical duties and responsibilities.
2. Provides assistance in taking messages, greeting visitors, and providing visitors with information about exhibitions.
3. Assists in gallery maintenance.
4. Assists in the preparation and implementation of gallery project/program/exhibition activities.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
|Education, Certifications and/or Licenses||High school diploma/GED required; some completed college course work highly preferred.|
|Experience||Six-months of computer and/or word processing required.
Previous gallery/museum/art experience preferred.
Previous customer service experience required.
|Knowledge, Skills & Abilities||Ability to follow University policies and procedures.
Knowledge of standard office policies and practices.
Ability to learn a variety of procedures.
Ability to be a self-starter who is detail-oriented.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other University employees.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but noninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
